Synopsis
A couple celebrates obtaining their own home thanks to the government, only to discover their vulnerability following an accident in which a friend is scalded by boiling oil on a stormy day in Santiago. The short film is a satire in the style of Freddy Krueger, ironically suggesting that even he would be terrified of living in Santiago.

Production & History
In 2020, we produced the short film titled 1-2-3-4, a name matching its visual style, as it is shot in a single continuous tracking shot without cuts—resembling the rhythm and energy of a live Rock 'n' Roll concert.
The project was self-managed by Fabrizzio Bartolini with the support of the School of Animation at UDLA University, which facilitated script consulting by Daniel Castro and sound design by Christian Cosgrove. It also secured distribution support from production companies Cintamani Films and Bandera Brothers—connections established during the festival run of the short film La Periferia at the Cannes Short Film Corner.
As a self-funded short film without a budget for full-team animation, the director Fabrizzio Bartolini animated the 3D portion while also personally financing the 2D animation. The 2D work was entrusted to Fabián Geos, a fellow graduate from the 2005 inaugural class of Digital Animation at UDLA.
After earning 14 international awards, the short film achieved a major milestone at the end of 2021 by winning Best Animation at the Tokyo Film Awards in Japan—a triumph in Japan for two animators who first met as part of the very first generation of digital animators in Chile.
